All plant and machinery utilised on-site will be compliant with relevant directives and have a CE mark.

Machinery defects must be reported immediately to the site management team. Plant and equipment must only be used by operatives who are authorisied to do so and who have appropriate training. Interfering with plant will result in expulsion from site.

Only low voltage or battery operated power tools should be used on McLaughlin & Harvey sites. Tools and equipment in excess of 110v may only be used with the formal agreement of the McLaughlin & Harvey contract management team. Battery chargers should not be left in canteens / offices or obstructing walkways.

240v electrical supplies may be connected to contractors’ accommodation units, subject to obtaining permission from McLaughlin & Harvey.

All electrical installations must comply with current Electricity at Work and I.E.T. / I.E.E. Regulations and Guidance.

All portable, stationery, transportable, IT and moveable electrical equipment used on our construction and civil engineering sites should be subject to 3-monthly electrical testing frequencies. Records to this effect may be requested.

If such equipment is found not to comply with the above requirement it should be available for testing on-site at our discretion otherwise it will be removed from site.
