Health, safety and wellbeing is vital in any construction team, but at McLaughlin & Harvey, we recognise that we have a responsibility to go above and beyond compliance for not only our employees, but for our entire supply chain, our clients and the public.
Everyone we work with is seen as an individual and has access to a wide range of support, training and processes which will ensure that projects are always delivered on time and to the utmost quality whilst keeping people safe, healthy, and supported every step of the way.
Working at Height
All working at height must be planned, managed, and implemented using the safest and most appropriate equipment. Those using work at height equipment must be trained, competent, and supervised by their employer.
The following is McLaughlin & Harvey’s preferred work at height equipment: mobile elevated work platforms, including push around verticals, podium stepladders – up to max. four tread, telescopic work platforms and delta decks.
Plant & Equipment
All plant and machinery utilised on-site must comply with relevant machinery directives and have a CE mark. Only plant that has been certified as compliant with the Provision & Use of Workplace Equipment Regulations, and were appropriate the Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulation is permitted on-site.
Plant and equipment must only be used by operatives who are authorised to do so and have appropriate training. Operatives interfering with plant will be immediately expelled from the site.
Standards for our supply chain
All of our supply chain must demonstrate their health, safety, environmental and quality competencies through our pre-qualification process.
Only once the key competencies have been established, and our subcontractor commitment statement signed, will the subcontractor be deemed an approved supply chain member.
